Company History

Dayton Door Sales was established in 1961 by our current semi retired CEO, Ken Monnin.  His start in the door business was with Francis Products in his hometown of Russia, OH.  Like many businesses starting out, operations were very modest to say the least.  But as Ken persevered and things solidified, Dayton Door Sales soon became a well established, healthy and respected business.  Today, the company operates under many of the same basic principles that helped establish this company 45 years ago.  With Ken at the helm and many loyal, well skilled employees performing the work, Dayton Door Sales continues to enjoy a reputation of being the true experts in the door business.

Here are some of our company highlights over the last 45 years:

1968	Company moved into a new 6,500 sq ft office and warehouse building on Springfield Street
1973	2,000 sq ft warehouse addition is completed
1973	Dayton Door Sales is named the “largest dealer in Ohio” of Genie garage door openers
1974	Company acquires the rights to distribute the “Overhead Door” brand product, the same brand we distribute today.  We continue to be the only authorized dealer in the Dayton area.
1976	Company establishes our Springfield, OH branch, Overhead Door Co of Springfield
1977	An all new 18,000 sq ft warehouse facility is built (our current warehouse).
1979	Operations established to serve Butler and Warren counties and surrounding area.  It is introduced as Middletown Door Sales and now operates as Overhead Door Co of Springboro / Middletown.
1980	Current office and showroom is completed attached to the recently completed warehouse
1981	Expanded product line to include entry doors and other home improvement products
1984	First mainframe computer is purchased
1986	Company celebrates its 25th anniversary
1990	Operations established in Troy to serve the Northern Miami Valley.  It now operates as Overhead Door Co of Troy / Piqua
